A brass nut is shown to a spectator for examination, and is then handed a piece of cord and asked to thread the nut on to the cord and hang it around your neck, like the lord mayors chain of office. You turn around and ask them to tie the cord at the back of your neck then turn back to spectator and the nut is now in your hand. It can be handed out for further examination. These are very well made in brass and were produced for Edwin Hooper after the Supreme Magic Company days
